Starting from 20th July 2026, we are offering the NHS Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine completely free to eligible young adults. Meningitis can be serious, but getting vaccinated is the safest, most effective way to protect your health before the new academic year begins.
Who is Eligible?
You can get this free vaccine if you fall into any of the following categories:

Born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2008.

Under 25 and entering university as an undergraduate for the first time in Autumn 2026 (born on or after 21st July 2001).

Under 25 starting further education for the first time in Autumn 2026 and living in student accommodation or halls of residence (born on or after 21st July 2001).

Your doctor will issue an electronic prescription or a paper prescription, which you can then take to any pharmacy to be dispensed.
